Jess Taylor

Jess started her undergraduate degree at the University of Liverpool in 2013, specialising in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology. Throughout Jess’s degree, she undertook 3 research projects; with two projects focussing on antimalarial drug development and one focussed on the treatment of tuberculosis.

Jess graduated in 2017 achieving a first-class master’s degree (MCHEM) and was also awarded the Syngenta prize for pharmacology. Following this, she carried out a PhD (2017-2021) in the McDonald group at the University of Liverpool, in partnership with Liverpool Women’s Hospital, exploring the development of nanoformulations for the prevention of sudden preterm birth. 

Jess joined the Rannard group specialising in formulation chemistry and the creation of industrially-relevant formulations funded by Tandem Nano Ltd and later took a role at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital to facilitate human drug trials and communication with patients and clinicans.
