Andy graduated from the University of Liverpool with a 1st Class MChem degree in 2011. After studying controlled polymerisation techniques during his masters project with Prof. Peter Myers, he joined the Rannard research group to study for his PhD in the synthesis of polymeric materials for use in drug delivery systems and the treatment of HIV/AIDS.  After successfully completing his PhD, Andy stayed in the Rannard group and broadened his skills into nanomedicines formed by solid drug nanoparticle processes. In 2022, he became a Research Coordinator to facilitate the delivery of polymeric projects across the team based mainly in the Materials Innovation Factory.
