Sam Morris
Sam graduated from University of Liverpool with a 1st class MChem degree in June 2019. Having completed a third-year research project and summer internship under the supervision of Dr Tom McDonald, Sam joined the Rannard group in 2018, supervised by Dr Helen Cauldbeck in the Radio Materials Laboratory, to work on dissolvable microneedles for malaria prophylaxis. Sam’s PhD seeks to continue this work – optimising an ex vivo skin model combined with radiometric analysis and synthetic radiochemistry in order to further explore microneedles as a transdermal drug delivery system.
At the end of 2023, Sam took a postdoctoral role, funded by Unilever, to develop new radiological techniques to support their global product understanding and development programmes.
