Cameron Hogarth
Cameron studied Chemistry at the University of Liverpool with a Year in Industry at Lubrizol before graduating in July 2019. He completed a PhD researching the formulation and characterisation of lipid nanoparticles with Tom McDonald. In particular, Cam studied how the properties and ratios of materials influence lipid nanoparticle formation and stability and cellular uptake. This, enabled him to tune nanoparticle formation characteristics to achieve sustained drug release by means of enzymatic activation as well as optimising cryogenic preservation. During his PhD he also researched how properties of lipid nanoparticles may influence cellular uptake for application in mRNA delivery in vitro.
After completing his PhD, Cameron joined the Rannard group in 2023 where he took on a postodctoral position and became a member of the Centre of Excellence for Long-acting Therapeutics (CELT).
