Sarah Blackmore

Sarah graduated from the University of Liverpool with a first class MChem degree in 2016. During her degree, she completed both a third year research project and an EPRSC funded summer project in the Rannard group, which focused on the synthesis of functional polymers via controlled radical polymerisation techniques. Continuing to work in the group, Sarah completed her 4th year MChem project, studying acid-catalysed ring opening polymerisation of lactones. She is now studying for her PhD in the Rannard group focussing on polyester synthesis for use in nanoparticle drug delivery of cancer drugs.

Sarah successfully defended her thesis in 2020, stayed in the group as a postdoctoral researcher for several months before moving to Australia in 2021.
